La central funciona utilizando carb\u00f3n para alimentar turbinas de vapor y calderas, para generar una producci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 800 megavatios de electricidad. Al principio, la central ten\u00eda instalados dens\u00edmetros radiactivos para gestionar la concentraci\u00f3n de los lodos de cenizas volantes.
